TORONTO, Dec. 4, 2009 - Dave Egles - founder and president of Home Energy Solutions (HES) - brings his expertise to the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) Conference to reveal how Ontario residents can generate money by investing in the environment. Egles - former CanSIA president - will explain how a one-time investment in solar electric technology can generate income for the next 20 years under Ontario's Green Energy Act micro feed-in-tariff.* Following the conference, Egles will host a comprehensive one-day workshop with some of Canada's top solar authorities.

*Under Ontario's Green Energy Act micro feed-in-tariff, homeowners installing up to 10-kilowatt solar systems are eligible to receive $0.80 for each kilowatt of excess energy their systems deliver for the next 20 years. A micro-scale home system costs between $20,000 and $100,000; on a south-facing roof, it could generate income of up to $10,000 each year. "An investment in solar has a strong financial yield while being a green, ethical investment," says Egles. "Homeowners can quite easily recoup their initial cost - and then continue to reap all the benefits of an environment-friendly energy system."
