Sony Recertifies Targray as Green Partner Supplier

Montreal, Quebec, Canada, March 1, 2010—Targray Technology International Inc—a leading global supplier of raw materials and cutting-edge products to Optical Media and Photovoltaic manufacturers —has been recertified as a Sony Green Partner based on its ongoing practices in sound environmental management. Following a rigorous audit conducted by Sony, Targray has demonstrated compliance with Sony's stringent environmental guideline standards for ‘environmentally friendly' products, production facilities and management systems.

"We're very pleased to have been recognized by Sony once again for our longstanding commitment to environmental preservation," said Andrew Richardson, President of Targray. "As at Sony, reducing our ecological footprint is part of Targray's corporate culture. In addition to green products and environmentally conscious operational controls, we have established an Environmental Committee that continuously spearheads initiatives to further reduce our overall energy consumption, minimize our environmental footprint and promote awareness and education of environmental issues."

Established in July 2001, the Sony Green Partner certification—which is renewable every two years—encourages suppliers to design and produce products with minimal environmental impact. Sony demands that all outside suppliers of components, devices and materials for Sony products comply with Sony's Green Partner requirements by:

• Maintaining and providing data on products and supplier products and material to demonstrate they do not contain hazardous substances such as cadmium, mercury and lead
• Establishing procedures across manufacturing, quality, product, purchasing and sales operations to ensure materials used are environment friendly
• Developing action plans to maintain standards and apply corrective actions as necessary
• Passing audits of manufacturing facilities

Issued by the Procurement Head Office, Sony Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, Targray's certification covers the two-year period from March 1, 2010, through February 28, 2012.
