PV Powered Inverters Used in 1 MW Solar Project at the University of Toledo

PV Powered, Inc. announces that its commercial inverters have been installed at the University of Toledo's Scott Park Campus of Energy & Innovation in Toledo, Ohio. The 1.12 MW system was installed by Advanced Distributed Generation LLC and will be owned by Constellation Energy Projects & Services.

Bend, ORE. - March 15, 2010 - PV Powered, Inc., the innovation leader in solar inverter reliability, performance, and serviceability, announces that its commercial inverters have been installed at the University of Toledo's Scott Park Campus of Energy & Innovation in Toledo, Ohio. The 1.12 MW system was installed by Advanced Distributed Generation LLC (ADG) of Toledo, Ohio and will be owned and operated by Constellation Energy Projects & Services of Baltimore, Maryland, who in turn will sell the electricity that it generates back to the University under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

The ground-mount system incorporates a combination of 260kW and 100kW inverters organized in a centralized architecture, with two groupings of inverters mounted on pads 1000 feet apart and connected with a performance monitoring network.

"We chose PV Powered inverters because we were looking for a cost-effective and highly-reliable American-made product with high efficiency," said Keith Dandridge, Project Manager at ADG. "We like the inverters' simplistic and rugged design, and the responsiveness and quality of PV Powered's technical support exceeds that of any other inverter company that we've dealt with."

"The key to making PPAs pencil out financially is inverter technologies that maximize the energy harvest and are highly reliable over the long term," said Erick Petersen, PV Powered's Vice President of Marketing and Sales. "An intense focus on engineering high reliability into our products has enabled us to be first in the industry to offer 10-year warranties standard and optional 20-year warranties nationwide."
