Global renewable energy company Enfinity Canada announced the appointment of its Managing Director, Chris Young, to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA).

Global renewable energy company Enfinity Canada announced the appointment of its Managing Director, Chris Young, to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA).

OSEA presents a unified voice for "Community Power", advocating government policies and programs to spur the widespread deployment of renewable energy. The organization is working to catalyze the efforts of community organizers and raise awareness of the benefits of Community Power and renewable energy. It initiated and led the highly successful campaign for a Green Energy Act for Ontario which was passed in May 2009 and today is creating new jobs and stimulating a new energy economy for the province.

"The on-the-ground input from Board members has always been critical to the success of OSEA", says Kris Stevens, Executive Director. "2011 will be an important year for the consolidation of the gains in the renewable energy sector facilitated by OSEA. We look forward to Chris Young's broad base of experience in guiding OSEA through this period."

Chris Young said "OSEA has demonstrated its commitment and success as an advocate for renewable energy programs in Ontario. I look forward to collaborating with this dedicated group to further Ontario's leadership position in powering prosperity and sustainability through renewable energy."

A market leader in solar development, Enfinity has a track record of working with complex renewable energy incentive programs (similar to Ontario's Feed-in Tariff scheme) in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Young concluded, "We are fiercely committed to the idea of combining a global approach with local focus. Working with OSEA will give us the opportunity to share Enfinity's experience with the Ontario business community. We want to show that solar energy is a commercially-viable business proposition with clear benefits for the people in our communities."
