Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received orders to supply turbines with a total capacity of 117MW for German and Italian wind power projects.

Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has received orders to supply turbines with a total capacity of 117MW for German and Italian wind power projects.

The company won an order from WinBis to deliver 22 units of the V90-3MW turbine for the Bisaccia wind farm in Campania, Italy.

The contract for this project includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines and a ten-year service agreement, and delivery of the turbines will start at the end of 2011.

The Bisaccia wind power project is expected to produce 116,000MWh of electricity per year.

Vestas has also won an order from Windpark Grob Eilstorf to deliver 17 units of the V112-3MW turbine for the 51MW Grob Eilstorf wind farm, located in Lower Saxony, Germany.

The turbines for this power project are scheduled to be installed this year.

The contract for the German project includes supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines, foundations, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system and a 15-year service agreement.

Dynapower - MAXIMIZE PRODUCTION AND REVENUES WITH SOLAR PLUS STORAGE

The addition of energy storage to an existing or new utility-scale PV installation allows system owners and operators the opportunity to capture additional revenues. Traditional storage plus solar applications have involved the coupling of independent storage and PV inverters at an AC bus or the use of multi-input hybrid inverters. An alternative approach - coupling energy storage to PV arrays with a DC-to-DC converter - can help maximize production and profits for existing and new utility-scale installations. DC-Coupled Utility-Scale Solar Plus Storage leads to higher round-trip efficiencies and lower cost of integration with existing PV arrays and at the same time, opens up new revenue streams not possible with traditional AC-coupled storage, including clipping recapture and low voltage harvesting, while being eligible for valuable tax incentives.
