Corvus Energy Charges Chief Strategy Officer Joe Vosburgh to Expand Industrial Lithium Technology

Vosburgh will focus on market and product development and global business development strategies for Corvus in the marine, energy, transportation and heavy industry sectors.

Corvus Energy, the Richmond-based manufacturer of the world's most powerful lithium-ion industrial batteries, announced today that Joe Vosburgh will join its team as Chief Strategy Officer.

Founded in 2009, Corvus is focused on transforming the marine, transportation and commercial energy storage industries with its release of an advanced lithium-ion battery technology that is able to store and distribute energy in megawatt sizes and has the capacity to output sustained power comparable to diesel engines in hybrid and full-electric vessels and industrial machinery. This month, Corvus was awarded the prestigious CME/IRAP 2010 Innovation Award for new technology, as well as received recognition from the Richmond Chamber of Commerce as the New Business of the Year.

Vosburgh brings more than 15 years of experience to Corvus in development, marketing and commercialization of breakthrough technologies. He previously held senior product strategy and leadership positions with Creo, Chancery Software, Ballard Power Systems and Ikona Gear International. He holds an MBA in marketing and accounting from Queen's University (1995) and an Engineering Degree from the University of Victoria (1993), both with honors distinction.
Vosburgh will focus on market and product development and global business development strategies for Corvus in the marine, energy, transportation and heavy industry sectors.

Dynapower - MAXIMIZE PRODUCTION AND REVENUES WITH SOLAR PLUS STORAGE

The addition of energy storage to an existing or new utility-scale PV installation allows system owners and operators the opportunity to capture additional revenues. Traditional storage plus solar applications have involved the coupling of independent storage and PV inverters at an AC bus or the use of multi-input hybrid inverters. An alternative approach - coupling energy storage to PV arrays with a DC-to-DC converter - can help maximize production and profits for existing and new utility-scale installations. DC-Coupled Utility-Scale Solar Plus Storage leads to higher round-trip efficiencies and lower cost of integration with existing PV arrays and at the same time, opens up new revenue streams not possible with traditional AC-coupled storage, including clipping recapture and low voltage harvesting, while being eligible for valuable tax incentives.
