Solergy, Inc. Announces New Building Integrated CPV (BICPV) Solution at SOLAREXPO

Company Adds 350kW with Greenhouse and Airport Cogen CPV Installations

VERONA, ITALY, May 4, 2011 - Solergy, Inc., developers of the innovative Cogeneration Concentrated Photovoltaic (Cogen CPV™) solar energy system, introduced their new BICPV product for building rooftops, greenhouses, and agriculture today from SOLAREXPO, Italy's largest solar conference.

The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Solergy and Azienda Agricola Ciccolella, a producer of high quality olive oil and cut roses in the Puglia region of Italy. Solergy will integrate a 105kW Cogen BICPV system in Ciccolella's greenhouses used to cultivate roses. In parallel, the two companies will collaborate to develop the Cogen solar market for greenhouses and orchards throughout the Puglia region, representing hundreds of megawatts.
"Energy is one of the largest expenses in our business," said Giuseppe Ciccolella. "In fact, we shut down operations during the winter months precisely for this reason. We had been considering PV for some time, but simply weren't convinced that it could provide a cost-effective solution for our particular needs. Solergy's Cogen CPV offers the ability for our greenhouse to operate all year long while remaining profitable."

Solergy also announced the signing of a contract with Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) to build a combined 250 kW Cogen CPV system at the Pantelleria Airport in Sicily. Installation of the system is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. Based on the data from the installation, ENAC will create guidelines for use of renewable energy at airports.
"We are continuing to execute our business strategy through these key customer wins," said Yoav Banin, CEO of Solergy, Inc. "The unique strengths and versatility of Cogen CPV enable us to enter new markets and provide solutions in many situations where traditional panels are simply inadequate."
Solergy's BICPV Solution
Solergy introduced the world's first Building Integrated Concentrated Photovoltaic (BICPV) system based on Solergy's high efficiency Cogen CPV technology and a new, tilt-and-roll tracker design that can be directly installed in rooftop beams, greenhouses, or ground-mounted. The Solergy BICPV solution transforms a passive structural element into an integrated energy appliance that generates electricity and heat. The solution is compatible with greenhouses and skylights and features a rapid, non-destructive installation and integration. Solergy's new product has no roof penetrations or rack mounts. The system is modular and customizable, allowing for flexibility in design for various rooftops and constrained areas. Like all Solergy CPV systems, BICPV features a total efficiency of up to 75%, up to 3X more energy than conventional PV (flat panel), the world's only all glass concentrating lens, and high precision sun tracking.
