San Rafael, Calif., October 17, 2011 – SunLink Corporation today announced the next generation of its HomeRun™ combiner box family. Proven on more than 100 MW of installations across North America, the HomeRun line has now been expanded to include features such as bulkhead connectors, disconnect switches and monitoring to facilitate solar installations of any size or design.
Standard HomeRun product options now include:
4 to 48 poles
Integrated disconnect switch
NEMA 3R, 4 and 4x (fiberglass or steel enclosure)
String-level monitoring
100, 225 and 400 amp continuous rating design
600 and 1000 volt design
Bulkhead connectors
These standard options can be combined into more than 2,500 possible combiner box assemblies to support multiple installation configurations, and thereby reduce electrical costs.
"SunLink's goal in offering combiner boxes has always been to make life easier for commercial solar integrators by enabling them to count on one trusted source for all of their balance of system needs," says Sunlink CEO, Christopher Tilley. "We have expanded the HomeRun line as part of our commitment to continue to help our customers get solar in more quickly and cost effectively."
When designing the new line, SunLink emphasized components that simplify installation, improve safety and support system design flexibility.
"It was important to us from an enhanced safety perspective to include features such as non-conductive backplates, compression-style lug terminals and touch-safe fuse holders," explains Daniel Sherwood, P.E., SunLink's Director of Electrical Products. "We also designed the new line to resolve the most common installation challenges. For example, to reduce project costs by enabling the use of aluminum conductors, our boxes have the capability to support up to Dual 750KCMIL output conductors. And to reduce wiring time, our fuse holders are mounted in an angled "V" configuration to make it easier to insert wires into the fuse holder. These are the features our customers have asked for."
The HomeRun line will be on display this week at Solar Power International in Dallas, TX. Visit SunLink's booth #3409 for a first-hand look.
All HomeRun solar combiner boxes are ETL listed to UL 1741 and made in the USA.
