Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas and Wind To Power System launch integrated LVRT retrofit solution for PV power plants in Spain
Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas and Wind To Power System (w2pS) have signed an exclusive partnership agreement consolidating their position in the market as technological frontrunners in the development and deployment of solutions in the renewable energy sector. --- Both companies will join forces to provide a comprehensive one stop shop' solution that allows for the adaptation of photovoltaic (PV) power plants to the requirements of the Spanish legislation for Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) compensation.
Madrid,20.01.2012.- Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas and Wind To Power System (w2pS),
partnership agreement today to supply an integrated solution for the adaptation of PV
power plants to ensure maximum compliance with the new regulations on the response of
PV plants to voltage dips.
The objective of this partnership is to bring together the capabilities of the two companies
that together offer the most competitive solution for the requirements stated in Royal
Decree 1565/2010, of 19th November, relating to the mandatory requirements to adapt
photovoltaic PV plants with power above 2 MW to comply with that provided in
operational procedure O.P. 12.3 on the response to voltage dips.
Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas and w2pS distribute a turnkey integral solution that includes
the design, engineering, legalisation, installation and the processing of the final
certification of the power plant.
Both companies offer state-of-the-art technical and administrative added value which is a
unique proposition in the market:
Universal medium voltage system, independent of the number and type of
inverters installed in the PV plant. It is connected in parallel with the substation of
the power plant, not causing losses or affecting the performance of the power
plant. As opposed to low voltage solutions, the maintenance required is minimal
as it is a single system.
Dynamic reactive power regulation, making it possible to obtain the maximum 4%
bonus established in the current regulations.
Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas and w2pS guarantee the adaptation and all
administrative processes necessary to legalise the modification applied in the PV
plant, together with the coordination of its final certification.
Roberto Fernįndez, CEO of Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas, stated: "we have a unique
integrated solution guaranteeing compliance with the legislative requirements and, at the
same time, simplifying the maintenance of the power plant and reducing the risk of faults.
Aries Ingenierķa y Sistemas has applied the solution in its own photovoltaic power plants
ARSOL-1 and ARSOL-Toledo".
In addition, David Tuohy, CEO of w2pS, stated: "We are proud to join forces with Aries
Ingenierķa y Sistemas. Having captured 40% market in Spain for LVRT compensation for
wind we selected Aries as the best partner to realize our commercial goals for LVRT
compensation in the solar sector".
The collaboration between both companies constitutes a milestone in the renewable
energy sector in Spain and responds to the legislative adaptation of solar power plants.
