Hydro to Debut Solar Design Manual at Solar Power International, Adds Operations in Phoenix
The show takes place September 10-13 at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center.
LINTHICUM, Md. -- August 3, 2012 -- Hydro will introduce a solar-inspired edition of its popular extrusion design manual in booth #860 at Solar Power International. The show takes place September 10-13 at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center.
"It is a practical engineering and application guide to creating aluminum extrusions, from a solar perspective," said Allan Bennett, who is responsible for the company's solar business in North America. "We want it to give designers, engineers and developers technical insight and guidelines into taking advantage of extruded aluminum's performance characteristics and advantages. And of course, we will have engineers available at the show to respond to specific questions."
The manual includes information on:
· physical properties
· extrusion manufacturing and tolerances
· joining and fabrication techniques
· surface treatment and corrosion resistance
· recycling
At the booth, Hydro will also feature mounting systems, structural components and electrical connectors for solar and wind power systems. Hydro's products typically include more than 70 percent recycled aluminum content. Guests will receive a free Solar Design Manual on CD.
Expanding fabrication In related news, Hydro is following up - at its solar "hub" in Arizona - the announcement the company made in January about the expansion of its aluminum fabrication services in the U.S. The announcement was tied to new operations, technical competence and increased customer support.
At its plant in Phoenix, the company has just added 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space dedicated to fabrication, including CNC machining and product assembly, and has doubled its number of engineers for customer and operational support.
