Energy Veteran Brings Track Record of Success with Solar Products and Services

Doug May brings more than 30 years of experience both domestically and internationally in high tech and renewable energy.

SPG Solar, a leading provider of commercial solar power products and services, today announced the appointment of Doug May as CEO. For the past nine years, May has been at the forefront of accelerating cost reductions and product innovation in the solar industry.


"Doug demonstrates a focus on putting customers' needs first, which in turn has allowed him to build trusted brands that deliver innovative products and services to drive exponential growth," said Lisa Schule, Board Member and Managing Director, GEF. May brings more than 30 years of experience both domestically and internationally in high tech and renewable energy. Most recently, May was President and CEO of Unirac, and prior to that he was VP of Worldwide Sales, Service and Marketing at Xantrex, a leader in the renewable energy, consumer electronics and power products markets.

May holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Southern California. He is also a member of the board of directors at Falcon Waterfree, SPG Solar and Operation Amped, a nonprofit group that supports wounded warriors through free surf camps.
