Vishay Intertechnology Releases a New 10 A, 1000 V Photovoltaic Solar Panel Protection Rectifier in the P600 Axial Package

MALVERN, Pa. — Oct. 8, 2012 — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced a new photovoltaic solar panel protection rectifier with a high current rating of 10 A and high reverse voltage of 1000 V in the P600 axial package.

Based on glass passivated chip technology, the GPP100MS offers a maximum operating junction temperature of 175 şC. The device features low thermal resistance, low forward voltage drop of 0.80 V at 10 A and 125 şC, and high forward surge capability of 440 A.

Suitable for polarity protection applications in solar panel blocking boxes, the P600 package features solder bath temperatures of 275 °C maximum, 10 s, per JESD 22-B106. The GPP100MS is compliant to RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.

Samples and production quantities of the new rectifier are available now, with lead times of four weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery starts at $0.50 per piece in quantities below 10,000. Follow rectifiers from Vishay at http://twitter.com/vishayindust.

LG Solar Unveils NeON R with Enhanced Aesthetics and Energy Savings

The NeON R module features "Back Contact" cell technology delivering an entirely black panel that is aesthetically pleasing and energy efficient. The cell's seamless, surface blends perfectly into nearly all rooftop designs while the module's electrodes are positioned on the rear of the cell. Using LG's N-type cell structure, the panels produce 365W of energy, up to 7.3kWp, compared to 5.8kWp of the p-type cell. The module's new design minimizes LID, thereby delivering a longer lifespan and increased energy output.
