Increased PV installation power output, Decreased installation costs

NEWARK, DE (October 9, 2012) - Motech Americas LLC, the most experienced manufacturer of solar modules with its Newark, Delaware facility in operations for more than 20 years, has announced the launch of new UL 1,000 volt Certified Modules for PV installations in North America. The UL 1,000 volt Certified feature has been integrated into MOTECH's newly announced multicrystalline IM Plus Series modules with power outputs up to 260 watts and 310 watts and the monocrystalline XS Plus Series with leading power levels of 265 and 320 watts, all with positive tolerance, creating significant cost savings for installation, maintenance and operations.

With this enhancement, Motech Modules can be connected in series strings of up to 1,000 volts DC - an improvement over the conventional 600 volts DC. Along with the savings that come with more rapid and reduced-labor installations, the new modules provide significant cost savings for maintenance and operations and for balance of systems (BOS) by allowing increased maximum system voltage and improved system performance, reducing losses from resistance.

The enhanced Motech Americas 1000V UL certified Module enables more modules to be wired together in each string to an inverter. That, in turn, enables lower cost, more efficient inverters to be used, further reducing the installation cost. The reduction in the number of combiner boxes that are needed and the reduced number of wiring homeruns means additional BOS savings.
