CWIEME celebrates successful show in Chicago 2017

Visitors and exhibitors praised the show as an excellent platform for connecting manufacturers with potential and existing customers. Seminars and workshops highlighted relevant topics to the industry, such as the expansion of HEVs and EVs.

CWIEME — the worlds leading exhibition for coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing industries — has celebrated another successful event in Chicago this year. From October 3 to 5, the Windy City was at the center of discussions on new electromagnetic design and transformer manufacturing technologies, as well as the future of electric motors and automation.

Over the course of three days, exhibitors displayed their latest products and presented the newest trends in the industry to keen visitors, interested in exchanging information, relationship-building opportunities, and good deals.

To address the increasing interest in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and electric vehicles (EV), one of the hottest topics in the electric motor industry currently, CWIEME Chicago included this year a HEV & EV Trail, which provided the right space for electric motor manufacturers and suppliers to connect.

"CWIEME Chicago is a great platform for us to connect with potential and existing customers. During the first two days we received business cards from over ten potential customers who showed good interest in our products," said Gary Gan, sales manager for Chengdu Ascend Magnetic Technology & Products. The Chinese company was also present at CWIEME Berlin last June and due to its good experience in Chicago, it now plans to attend CWIEME Shanghai in March 2018.

Emanuela Frontini, designer at Laboratorio Elettrofisico - an Italian company specialized in engineering, designing, and manufacturing magnetizing and magnetic measuring equipment - was also positively impressed by the number of visitors to the companys booth interested in new projects. "We are quite happy with the event; we met new contacts and exchanged information with many people," said Frontini. "It is a good opportunity to get our companys name out."

Exhibitors and visitors at CWIEME Chicago have also stressed the international atmosphere at the show, where experts in coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing from all over the world shared experiences and exchanged knowledge in their areas of expertise. "It definitely helps with product development," said Sean McCall, regional sales manager at SKF.

Seminars and workshops

The free-to-attend seminars and workshops were also a highlight in this years CWIEME Chicago. The show assembled a group of prominent experts to discuss hot topics in the electric motor and transformer manufacturing industry, such as the expansion of HEVs and EVs. Modernization of energy distribution networks and the development of new technologies - as well as their global trade - were also in the agenda. Among the speakers were Deia Bayoumi (ABB), Matthew Doude (Centre for Advanced Vehicular Systems), Patrick Schaufuss (McKinsey), and Tom Prucha (Protean Electric).

A talk with six experts took place on the last day of CWIEME Chicago, where they presented a clear overview over EVs future development and its impact on internal combustion engines. One of the assertions was that China has been emerging as leader in EVs technologies, closely followed by Europe, both largely driven by regulations over pollution.

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide - the ultimate solution for fast and easy installation of the rail-less RockIt racking system on composition shingle roofs. Smart Slide conforms to UL 441 and TAS 100 (A)-95 for wind and wind-driven rain, providing a super-strong watertight seal that is achieved through compression, in most cases without the need for additional sealant. The waterproofing sealant is embedded deep into the granules of the shingle, thanks to the integrated flexible foam layer that provides cushioning. This ensures a secure fit that conforms to any architectural-style shingle. With UltraGrip Technology™, you can rely on a secure installation, as it absorbs the movement created by thermal expansion and contraction. The pre-installed sealing pads are compatible with all composition shingle roofs, making it the ideal choice, even in ambient temperatures as low as 5 degrees.
