Econic Offers Free Ground Energy Webinar

Heat pump specialists Econic are offering a free online webinar regarding the design of ground energy collectors.

Leading UK heat pump specialist Econic is to hold a free webinar focusing on the design of ground energy collectors.

The event, the latest in a series led by Econic's team of experts, will take place on Tuesday, May 28, from 1.30pm-2.30pm.

Entitled ‘Designing Ground Energy Collectors for Ground Source Heating and Cooling', the webinar will tackle a wide range of issues surrounding the cutting-edge technology.

Led by Econic's managing director, Rob Gardiner, it aims to give architects, consultants and all those interested in renewable energy a valuable insight into the technology and how it is implemented.

Topics to be covered include:

• Types of ground collector and energy storage systems.

• Design parameters (including ground and load side peak & base and flow temperatures).

• The importance of understanding the underlying geology and hydrogeology.

• The significance of collector type, configuration and installation, as well as in-situ and laboratory testing.

Constraints in design and construction will also be discussed, along with interaction between GEC and GSHPs and performance, together with the importance of heating and cooling, plus simultaneous heating and cooling.

Other issues including planning, statutory permits and licences will also be covered during the event. To register, please visit www.myriadceg.com/heat-pumps/webinar-registration/.

Rob Gardiner said: "We are planning an informative and insightful webinar that will really focus on some of the key issues surrounding the design of ground energy collectors for ground source heating and cooling.

"We hope people will come away from the event with a clearer understanding of the technology and how it is implemented, as well as what to consider when designing a project."

The Econic series of webinars will continue next month when the topic to be covered is ‘Expelling The Myths of Geothermal Pile Design'. That event, again led by Rob Gardiner, will take place on Monday, June 24, from 1pm-2pm.

Econic is part of Myriad CEG, one of the UK's leading on-site renewable energy specialists. It has been involved on ground-breaking heat pump system installations and ground heat projects across the country.

The webinar will also look at examples of how Econic have used heat pump systems across Britain.

In addition to heat pumps Myriad CEG also provides biomass heating systems and solar PV systems.
