Polypore Announces New President for Energy Storage - Electronics and Electric Drive Vehicles (EDVs) Business Segment

Christopher L. Cowger will join Polypore as President, Energy Storage - Electronics and Electric Drive Vehicles (EDVs), on September 3, 2013

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug 07, 2013 -- Polypore International, Inc. PPO -2.13% is pleased to announce that Christopher L. Cowger will join Polypore as President, Energy Storage - Electronics and Electric Drive Vehicles (EDVs), on September 3, 2013. Mr. Cowger will replace Mitchell J. Pulwer who announced his retirement earlier this year. Mr. Pulwer will work closely with Mr. Cowger through year-end to ensure a smooth transition.


Mr. Cowger brings extensive commercial and operational experience from various high technology and automotive companies including GM, Dell and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). More recently he was President and CEO of Ener1. Mr. Cowger progressed through a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities in engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and supply management. His diverse background in technology driven companies, as well as his international experience having worked and lived in Asia, positions him well to lead the Energy Storage - Electronics and EDVs Business Segment. Mr. Cowger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University. He also earned his MBA and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
