Parabolic Trough cost, performance and storage analysed in new report
CSP Today has recently launched the 2014 edition of the Parabolic Trough report which works as a barometer of what and where the industry is currently focusing its attention on.
‘Whilst perhaps unsurprisingly up-to-date cost and performance data on parabolic trough technology remained top on the list of information requests, there were notable distinctions from the research needs relayed in Spring of 2012, reflecting broader shifts in the industry over the past 12 months', highlights Kerry Chamberlain, analyst at CSP Today and editor of the report.
Chamberlain comments ‘The internationalization of CSP could be seen in the desire for this cost and performance information to now encompass multiple key markets, specifically data which would facilitate the benchmarking of the cost and performance of a parabolic trough plant between established and emerging markets'.
One key theme of the research was the disparity between cost and performance data on parabolic trough in established markets, but this data was absent for new markets such as South Africa or Morocco to mention two.
From this starting point shared with well-known experts in the industry, the report offers the latest cost data on over 150 points across the lifespan of a plant (from CAPEX to OPEX) from industry experts (including developers, suppliers, financiers) as well as localised market cost data from 8 markets: Chile, India, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UAE, Spain and US
