Polysilicon prices have shown an obvious correction this week, because lots of polysilicon traders are offering lower prices this week. Although major Chinese polysilicon players are still trying to keep their price at around RMB 130-135/Kg, major Chinese polysilicon buyers are heading to purchase polysilicon outside China. After adding some extra costs for polysilicon outside China, major polysilicon buyers are still able to purchase cheaper polysilicon than in China. With the lower polysilicon price offering outside China, polysilicon prices head down this week.
Multi solar wafers regain the price improvement this week, due to the solid demand and US dollar depreciation against RMB. At the moment, almost all major solar wafer makers are running their production lines with full utilization under their labor, capacity or cash capability. With the tight supply, major solar wafer suppliers would like to raise their wafer prices to improve their financial performance. On the other hand, major Chinese solar buyers are still looking for multi wafers to fulfill their utility projects in China. Under the reasonable wafer prices, major solar wafer buyers accept multi wafer increasing this week. Futhermore, when major Chinese solar players use RMB in China to deal with each other, weak US dollar against RMB also makes solar wafer price improve slightly. As a result of US dollar depreciation and solid demand, all multi wafer prices go up this week.
Solar cell prices keep stable this week, when all solar cell makers are still having high production utilization rates. At this moment, solar cell demand remains strong, due to the panel demand in China, Japan, and the US. Without the significant price improvement in solar panel or system, solar cell makers realize that it is difficult to raise solar cell prices. On the contrary, some solar cell buyers still intend to cut solar cell prices. Without the serious oversupply, solar cell buyers are not able to get lower prices this week. Therefore, solar cell price remain stable this week.
Solar panel prices keep stable this week, because weak US dollar offsets solar panel price correction. Although solar panel demand keeps strong in China, Japan and the US, solar system investors are still looking for lower panel prices. In order to secure those panel orders, solar panel suppliers are still offering lower panel prices in those countries. Moreover, some solar project owners or developers give up their projects, when solar panel prices are not able to meet their IRR targets. Hence, overall solar panel prices have no change this week.
