Suniva Supplies 1.1 MW of Modules for Solar Power Project in Querétaro, Mexico

Aircraft Maintenance Facility to be Powered by Suniva®

NORCROSS, Ga.--Suniva, Inc., a metro-Atlanta based manufacturer of high-quality, high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells and modules, today announces a recent 1.1MW shipment of its high-powered Optimus modules for use in Mexico's largest commercial solar power project.

The much anticipated solar project, owned by Delta TechOps, a joint venture of Delta Air Lines and Grupo Aeroméxico, will consist of a unique modular solar parking canopy system at Aeropuerto Intercontinental de Querétaro using high-powered Suniva modules. The Suniva canopy system will be designed by Intragreen, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Querétaro, Mexico based Grupo Metal Intra (GMI) and will feature equipment from USA suppliers Cantsink Manufacturing Inc., Shoals Technologies Group and SMA Solar Technology as part of an Export Import Bank- financed export credit project for GMI. Upon completion, the 3,240 Suniva solar modules are expected to generate approximately 1.4 GWh(AC) of solar electricity annually. This is the second Ex-Im Bank financed project that Suniva and GMI have partnered on, to meet the growing demand for solar electricity in Mexico.

"The Latin American markets – and Mexico in particular – are demanding high-quality US renewable energy solutions to meet their growing need for clean electricity. We will continue to work with strong partners like GMI in their local markets to provide turnkey solutions for their corporate customers," said Anthony Coker, senior director of emerging market sales for Suniva.

Intragreen is providing the engineering, procurement and construction services, and Suniva is performing systems design and commissioning support. Shipments of the balance of system components will occur through January and the project is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2014.
