620MW's of Solar Farm Projects Qualify for Duke RFP

Innovative Solar Systems has twelve (12) Solar Farm projects totally 620 Megawatts that qualify for the new Duke Energy RFP that was issued this week.

Asheville, NC February 16, 2014

Duke Energy issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) this week and is seeking primarily Solar Farm projects that are over 20MW in size and can be built and commissioned by December 31, 2015. These large projects must have been filed before 2/13/2014 or they do not qualify for the RFP. Innovative Solar Systems based in Asheville, NC has a total of twelve (12) large projects totally 620MW's all in the 25MW to 80MW size that have been filed prior to this RFP being announced and meet the criteria. ISS is currently the largest developer of Solar Farm projects in the state of North Carolina and has a proven track record for the development and implementation of utility scale Solar Farms. ISS is very excited to be able to fill the Request for this latest RFP.

One of the managing partners at ISS, John E. Green stated that these are very exciting times for the company as they form strategic relationships with world class construction companies and EPC's to assure that these Solar Farm projects get implemented in a timely manner. North Carolina has proven to be one of the best markets for renewable energy due to the 35% N.C. Tax Credits and 30% Federal Tax Credits available for Commercial Solar Farm projects of this nature. Duke Energy and ISS have been leaders in the area of Solar Energy projects. Investors, buyers and owners of Solar Farm projects especially like the larger size Solar Farms due to economy of scale, lower installed costs and ease of maintenance.

It will be a very busy year for ISS and its partners as these massive new Solar Farms begin construction all over the state by summer of 2014. Many different solar panel vendors will need to be chosen as it may be difficult for one company to supply the entire order of photovoltaic panels for these projects within the given project schedule. Solar Farms benefit everyone in some way or another stated John E. Green of ISS; the land owners make good monies on the long term land leases, new jobs are created, the consumers reap the benefit of lower energy costs, our planet receives the benefits from less carbon in the air and the Utility company is able to meet their mandates for more renewable energy in their portfolios. Producing Clean Green Renewable Energy is a winning scenario for everyone involved.
