M2M connectivity makes solar powered lighting affordable, offering world-class products to consumers for less than their daily spend on kerosene.
Guildford , UK, 22nd September 2014 – Eseye's long term customer and partner M-KOPA announced on Thursday last week that it has reached a ground-breaking achievement of connecting 100,000 homes in East Africa to light and power using solar technology and M2M connectivity.
This achievement has been realised in less than 2 years and marks an important milestone for the company supplying solar powered light and electricity to populations outside the grid.
The company estimates that each of the solar powered homes will save $750 over the next 4 years resulting in a combined saving of $75M on Kerosene; money, which we agree, is better spent on other priorities - more food on the table, more money for school books and tuition, more cash to invest in businesses.
