Baker Electric Solar Names Jay Miller Director of Operations

San Diego-based Baker Electric Solar is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Miller as its new director of operations. Miller brings more than 25 years of experience in the electrical contracting industry to his new position.

Baker Electric Solar, a San Diego-based solar company that designs, builds and installs photovoltaic solar power systems across Southern California, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jay Miller as director of operations.


In his role as director of operations, Miller will direct Baker Electric Solar's engineering, project management, construction and installation, warranty and service, warehousing and procurement.

With more than 25 years in the electrical contracting industry, with the last 14 years in operations, Miller brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his position at Baker Electric Solar. Most recently, Miller was vice president of operations at Vista-based Independent Energy Solutions (IES), where he managed multiple solar PV system projects. Prior to joining IES, Miller was with McBride Electric, a division of Critical Electric Supply Group, San Diego and Atlanta for 22 years. At McBride he held national accounts director of operations and national inventory and project manager positions.

This year Baker Electric Solar moved into its new 26,000 square foot facility in Escondido. With approximately 7,500 square feet for office personnel and 18,500 square feet of warehouse space, Baker Electric Solar is positioned to continue its growth. Since January 2014 Baker Electric Solar has hired 30 new employees, increasing its workforce more than 25 percent this year.
