SGS was awarded a contract to perform vendor inspections as part of Cameron LNG's construction project for natural gas liquefaction and export facilities near the Gulf of Mexico.

SGS was assigned a contract to perform vendor inspections for Cameron LNG, an American liquefied natural gas (LNG) company on January 12, 2015. This project involves the construction of natural gas liquefaction and export facilities adjacent to an already existing LNG receipt terminal near the Gulf of Mexico.

SGS was chosen to provide comprehensive vendor inspections for the project based on a number of factors, including technical qualifications, competitiveness and the comprehensiveness of the proposal.

SGS experts will conduct vendor inspections in:

- The United States
- Korea
- Italy
- China
- Japan
- Germany
- Taiwan
- France

The multi-billion dollar project is expected to be completed at the end of 2017. Once completed, the new facilities will allow for:

- The exportation of liquefied, domestically produced natural gas, and,
- The re-gasification of imported LNG for delivery to domestic markets

The project will create new jobs in the region and provide America's trading partners with access to new supplies of natural gas.
