Joule Case: Sustainable alternative to traditional combustion generators
Silent and pollution free, this battery-based generator can refuel from traditional wall outlets in a few hours with a built in charger, renewably from solar, or from other sources through one of two 12 volt connectors.
VANCOUVER, Wash. March 31th, 2015 Joule Case, a product of RenGen LLC, is officially debuted as the portable generator for the Renewable Generation. Silent and pollution free, this battery-based generator can refuel from traditional wall outlets in a few hours with a built in charger, renewably from solar, or from other sources through one of two 12 volt connectors. The Case also houses a 1000 Watt continuous inverter that delivers the exact amount of power your application needs and includes two USB chargers for your accessories.
Joule Case differs from other battery based power systems in three primary ways: flexibility, functionality and performance. The foundation for Joule Case is the modular design – each unit of energy, called a Joule, can be securely connected to the Case, creating an expandable, flexible power tool. With Joule Case, power a wide range of applications, refuel from nearly any source, jumpstart your vehicle, or provide emergency miles for an electric vehicle. Utilizing lightweight and long-life lithium batteries, Joule Case outperforms traditional lead acid systems and can refuel unlike combustion generators.
Each Joule has more than 500 Watt hours of energy, making it capable of powering a 60" LED TV for roughly 9 hours or a 60W equivalent LED bulb for 45 hours. To double or triple that energy, slide and lock-in more Joules.
"We've approached the dirty and noisy combustion generator with a wish-list of features and functions from different users across multiple industries and applications: silent, lightweight, renewable and lots of options for output." said James Wagoner, Joule Case Engineer "What we landed on was a design that can fundamentally be the fuel for generations to come. Many units of measure are arbitrary lines in the sand of science, a Joule is energy in motion and that's exactly what we made."
The team behind Joule Case will begin a crowdfunding campaign in early April, visit joulecase.com for details. Many of the rewards from the campaign will provide Joule Case systems to a national nonprofit to aid during natural disasters here in the US and Worldwide. Other rewards include the Joule Case components at pre-retail discount prices. If the campaign is successful these preordered Joule Cases could ship before Labor Day.
