Sun Brilliance, a Perth-based solar power systems integrator, is progressing plans to set up a 25 MW Solar Power Plant on 60 ha of land on the outskirts of Perth for a project cost of $42 Million.

When completed, the Sun Brilliance 25 MW solar farm on 60 ha of land will be the largest solar power plant in Western Australia, more than double the 10 MW Greenough River Solar Farm completed in 2012 by First Solar for Verve Energy and GE Energy Financial Services.

The Company has a MOU with a local power retailer supplying power to commercial customers in Perth. The MOU will be converted to a 25 years Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) on the finalisation of all regulatory approvals including connecting to the Western Power grid, the South-West Interconnected System.

The Australian Governments Renewable Energy Target aims to generate 33 GWh of power per year from renewable energy up to 2030. To meet these targets, Australia needs to develop 6 GW of renewable energy plant. To help meet this target, it is hoped site selection and all regulatory approvals for the Sun Brilliance solar farm will be completed to allow plant construction to commence in the second half of 2016 and to be operational by early 2017.

The Sun Brilliance solar farm will generate 45 Million kWh per year, enough for creating 45,000 Large Generation Certificates (LGCs) or Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).

"While fossil fuel energy markets are in retreat around the world, global renewable energy investment reached $329 billion in 2015, and investment in solar and wind will continue to grow through 2016," said Sun Brilliance Director Professor Ray Wills.

"This project in Western Australia will be a major milestone for Sun Brilliance Group as we look to develop a range of large-scale solar and wind power projects in Australia, India and other parts of the Asia Pacific Region" said Prof Wills.

"Rooftop solar has dominated the Western Australian market in the past 5 years, while the rest of the world has largely built utility scale solar farms. While Sun Brilliance will also look to install large rooftop systems for business and industry in Perth, solar farms will be important to deliver competitively priced electricity to customers who want power from renewable sources, but might not otherwise be able to access solar via their rooftop." said Prof Wills.

About the Sun Brilliance Group:
Sun Brilliance Group, based in Perth, Western Australia, has installed thousands of solar power systems in Australia including medium to large commercial systems, and started its operation in New Delhi from June 2015 to take the advantage of growing Indian solar energy market. Sun Brilliance is undertaking Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of 100 kW to 1 MW rooftop systems as well as multi- megawatt utility scale ground mounted solar power plants.

Sun Brilliance Group goal is to build 5 GW of solar power projects as an Independent Power Producer.

HPS EnduraCoilTM Cast Resin Medium Voltage Transformer

HPS EnduraCoil is a high-performance cast resin transformer designed for many demanding and diverse applications while minimizing both installation and maintenance costs. Coils are formed with mineral-filled epoxy, reinforced with fiberglass and cast to provide complete void-free resin impregnation throughout the entire insulation system. HPS EnduraCoil complies with the new NRCan 2019 and DOE 2016 efficiency regulations and is approved by both UL and CSA standards. It is also seismic qualified per IBC 2012/ASCE 7-10/CBC 2013. Cast resin transformers are self-extinguishing in the unlikely event of fire, environmentally friendly and offer greater resistance to short circuits. HPS also offers wide range of accessories for transformer protection and monitoring requirements.
