Solar thermal experts meet for “Solar Thermal Energy for Europe 2020”

Experts from the solar thermal sector, both from the industry and research fields, will look into joint initiatives in order to promote solar thermal related research and innovation activities in the coming years

Brussels, 26 February 2016 - Experts from the solar thermal sector, both from the industry and research fields, will look into joint initiatives in order to promote solar thermal related research and innovation activities in the coming years

The European Solar Thermal Technology Panel (ESTTP) of the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling organizes a workshop on "Solar Thermal Energy for Europe 2020" that will take place the 7 & 8 April 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

This workshop will provide first-hand, up-to-date information on the EUs Research and Innovation programme - Horizon 2020, in particular on solar thermal related topics. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to discuss R&I topics for the H2020 calls 2018 and beyond. It will also provide the opportunity to interact with other experts from the sector and discuss future trends and priorities.

Furthermore, also a brokerage event will be performed, where participants will have the opportunity to address ideas for new R&I initiatives.

More information about this event is available here.

About the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling
The European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-ETIP) brings together industry, research and policy stakeholders from the biomass, geothermal and solar thermal sectors to determine a common strategy for increasing the use of renewable energy technologies in heating and cooling.

Building on the experience acquired since 2005 within the European Solar Thermal Technology Platform (ESTTP), now incorporated in the RHC-ETIP, four major European organisations - EUREC, AEBIOM, EGEC and ESTIF - are spearheading the development of a common Vision and a Strategic Research Agenda for the renewable heating and cooling sector in Europe.

RHC-ETIP, officially endorsed by the European Commission since October 2008, is playing a decisive role in maximising synergies and strengthening efforts towards research, development and technological innovation which will consolidate Europes leading position in the sector.
