Meet the Next Generation of commercial and industrial LED lighting. One of the barriers that has always held high-powered, industrial-grade LED luminaires back from maximizing lumen output has been the heat created by the LED chips. Excessive heat can degrade the chips, lowering the output and shortening the lifespan of the instrument over time.

The US Department of Energy writes: "Excess heat effects both short term and long term LED performance. The short term effects are color shifts and reduced light output while the long-term effect is accelerated lumen-depreciation and thus shortened lumen life."
