Latest High-Power Solar Panel Manufactured by SPIC, Xi'an Solar Power Co, Ltd., Will Be Featured at DuPont SNEC 2016 Booth
The newest M2 series uses DuPont™ Solamet® PV19B to achieve 20.13 percent cell efficiency and reach 285-watt power output. This conventional 60-cell mono c-Si high-power module is protected by TPT, double-sided DuPont™ Tedlar® PVF film-based backsheet, to continuously provide proven power and lasting value.
SHANGHAI, May 24, 2016 - DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions will showcase the latest solar panel from Xian Solar Power Co, Ltd., a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) - the worlds largest solar energy installer - at SNEC 2016 this week. The newest M2 series uses DuPont™ Solamet® PV19B to achieve 20.13 percent cell efficiency and reach 285-watt power output. This conventional 60-cell mono c-Si high-power module is protected by TPT, double-sided DuPont™ Tedlar® PVF film-based backsheet, to continuously provide proven power and lasting value.
"DuPont is the industry leader in developing photovoltaic innovations that increase the efficiency, durability and return on investment of solar panels, which is why we are so excited to feature the successful collaboration with SPIC, Xian Solar Power at our SNEC booth," said Eric Wang, East sales leader, DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions. "The latest M2 series solar panels perfectly demonstrate how DuPont™ Solamet® and Tedlar® deliver proven power and lasting value day-after-day."
Because many of SPICs solar facilities are large in scale and operate in harsh environments, high-power modules that can function reliably for long periods of time are required to maximize investment returns. Solar panels made with DuPont™ Solamet® and Tedlar® have proven they can meet SPICs rigorous standards.
Operating in West Chinas desert climate known for high ultraviolet (UV) exposure, significant temperature fluctuations and severe sand storm threats, Huanghe Hydropowers (HHSD) first solar farms experienced rapid power degradation and backsheet cracking/yellowing issues. To achieve the highest reliability, HHSD has exclusively used Tedlar® PVF film-based TPT backsheets since 2013. In addition, SPIC, Xian Solar Power is utilizing mono-crystalline modules produced with Solamet® PV19B front-side silver metallization paste to achieve the greatest power output. By using modules produced with Solamet® PV19B metallization pastes, Huanghe Hydropower has achieved 20.13 percent production efficiency in cells, which is at least 0.15 percent higher than the previous baseline.
Huanghe Hydropower is a leading solar farm installer and operator in China. With roughly 2.555 Gigawatts of solar power on the grid at the end of 2015 and another 1 Gigawatt in the pipeline for 2016, Huanghe Hydropower and SPIC, Xian Solar Power are key contributors to SPICs current status as the worlds largest solar energy installer.
DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions is the leading supplier of specialty materials to the solar energy industry. Since 1975, more than half of the worlds 900 million installed solar panels contain DuPont materials. The DuPont Photovoltaics portfolio, including DuPont ™ Solamet® photovoltaic metallization pastes and DuPont™ Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride films, is the established benchmark of the industry, delivering lifelong value through proven performance, reliability, efficiency and best return on investment.
