(Novi, Michigan - Thursday September 8, 2016) The energy storage industry is moving fast, and so are the technological advancements being showcased next week at The Battery Show and co-located events, Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo and Critical Power Expo, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, September 13-15.

Host state Michigan is currently enjoying several high-profile investments such as Googles planned 53,000ft2 self-driving-car technology development center in Novi. The tech giant and FCA US (Auburn Hills) also recently inked a deal to build 100 hybrid Pacifica minivans with automated technology. Furthermore, with three-quarters (about $8bn) of the auto industrys research and development money spent in Michigan*, and with a higher concentration of engineers, R&D centers and automotive suppliers than any other state, The Battery Show is in the right place to open up more opportunities than ever before.

Industry leaders from the USA and beyond will be gathering at the manufacturing meeting place to see up-close and first-hand the latest technological advancements in the advanced energy storage market. Representatives from over 500 of the industrys best-recognized companies including East Penn, CATL, XALT Energy and Exide Technologies and more will be on-hand as exhibitors and a host of impressive industry spokespeople reveal products that are available now, as well as those in the planning stages for the future.

Running parallel to the exhibition is The Battery Show Conference, a well-respected, multi-track expert panel offering commercial, regulatory, safety, technological, stationary energy storage and next-generation battery R&D perspectives. • NY-BEST will unveil its ‘Capture New Yorks Energy pavilion to highlight what New York State has to offer the energy storage industry, including resources available for battery prototyping at Rochester Institute of Technology, battery testing operated by DNV GL and pilot manufacturing operated by Kodak at Eastman Business Park.
• XALT Energy will display its complete line of cells and XPAND modules that are currently in customer applications including electric race cars, marine vessels and transit buses.
• East Penn will showcase the UltraFLEX battery system: 48V plug-and-play energy storage for commercial and residential applications. Each fully configured UltraFLEX can deliver up to 28kW.
• Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Limited (CATL) will exhibit small-capacity polymer batteries, cylindrical batteries and large-capacity steel/aluminum shell batteries, widely used for electric automobiles and various energy storage devices.
• Visit Paraclete Energy to get sample batteries made with Surface Modified Silicon (SM-Silicon), the highest Ah material. PEs SM-Silicon is cycle stable, and its $/kWh cost is as much as 36% less than graphite.
• OCSiAl will present its single-wall carbon nanotube products, which increase energy density, rate and cycle life in electrode formulations and on coated foils. Attendees can sign up to receive a free sample at Booth 1604.
• Netzsch Premier Technologies will display the NETZSCH Alpha modular platform, designed such that three different grinding systems can be mounted on the same platform according to a defined drive capacity.
• Advanced Battery Concepts will display its GreenSeal bipolar technology, extending the potential of lead-acid batteries by achieving 10 times the cycle life of industry-standard VRLA batteries.
