June 12, 2017, Bombay - Power2Drive, Indias most innovative exhibition for the electric vehicle industry, announces its highly anticipated 2017 exhibition. The exhibition, held at the Bombay Exhibition Center on December 5-7th, will showcase the best electric mobility technology solutions at this critical point in Indias energy future.

The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), a government policy think-tank setup by Prime Minister Modi, has declared that accelerated adoption of electric and shared vehicles could save $60 billion in diesel and petrol costs while cutting down as much as one gigaton of carbon emissions for India by 2030 - equivalent to taking more than 211 million passenger vehicles off the road for a year.

"We are going to introduce electric vehicles in a very big way," proclaimed Piyush Goyal, Indias Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines. "By 2030, not a single petrol or diesel car should be sold in the country," he added in a statement that marks Indias strong intent to make this ambitious goal a reality.

Indias strategy, however, would require that more than 10 million electric vehicles be sold in the country in 2030, thats almost eight times the global stock of electric vehicles today. India had just 5,000 electric vehicles on the road by the end of last year, according to the International Energy Agency, which underlines the mammoth task the government is taking on. The cost of electric vehicles would need to come down drastically and an extensive infrastructure of charging stations would need to be established across the country.

To face this challenge, India requires a concerted and coordinated effort that brings together the best of the private and public sectors in transport, infrastructure and energy - this is where Power2Drive India comes in. Indias premier electric mobility event will run in parallel with Indias largest solar exhibition Intersolar and energy storage exhibition ees India, to create the perfect gathering to accelerate Indias path to a cleaner and greener society.

"The whos who of manufacturers, suppliers and distributors, from the automotive, transport and battery industries, will display their latest developments at the exhibition. 2017 is a pivotal year for Indias energy and mobility sectors, making this years Power2Drive an unmissable event for anyone wanting to support or profit from Indias drive towards electric mobility," said Florian Wessendorf, managing director for Power2Drive India.

SolarEdge Technologies - EV Charging Single Phase Inverter

The SolarEdge PV inverter combines sophisticated digital control technology with efficient power SolarEdge's EV charging single phase inverter offers homeowners the ability to charge electric vehicles up to six times faster than a standard Level 1 charger through an innovative solar boost mode that utilizes grid and PV charging simultaneously. This product is the world's first EV charger with an integrated PV inverter. Reducing the hassle of installing separately a standalone EV charger and a PV inverter, the EV charging inverter eliminates the need for additional wiring, conduit and a breaker installation. By installing an EV charger that is integrated with an inverter, no additional dedicated circuit breaker is needed, saving space and ruling out a potential upgrade to the main distribution panel. Whether you own an EV now or just want to be EV-ready, future-proof your home with SolarEdge.
