Ulbrich Solar Technologies Austria and Heraeus Photovoltaics Agree to Collaborate on Module Assembly Solutions

The global collaboration capitalizes on the market leadership and proven technological track record of both companies to bring new innovation and performance to solar cell interconnection technology.

MÜLLENDORF, Austria--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ulbrich Solar Technologies Austria, a global leader in the production of PV ribbon products for solar cell interconnection solutions and Heraeus Photovoltaics, the worldwide leading supplier of metallization solutions in the PV industry, announced a joint development partnership during Ulbrich of Austrias 10th Anniversary Reception at Forchtenstein Castle on August 31, 2017.

The global collaboration capitalizes on the market leadership and proven technological track record of both companies to bring new innovation and performance to solar cell interconnection technology. The partnership combines the expertise of Heraeus as the market leader of silver paste for the solar cell industry and Ulbrichs innovations in PV ribbon technologies to increase the electrical output and performance of solar modules.

For decades, Ulbrich Solar Technologies supplied the solar industry with plated flat and structured copper wire, continually identifying emerging PV Ribbon technologies and engineering innovative solutions to increase the electrical output and performance of solar modules. The partnership with Heraeus Photovoltaics is an important step in the companys efforts to raise its technological leadership to a new level.

According to Chris Ulbrich, CEO and Chairman of the Ulbrich Group, the partnership with Heraeus is a perfect match. "Two technology leaders in the PV industry are joining forces to enable lower overall costs of PV systems with new interconnection materials for Solar panel manufacturers," Ulbrich said. "This is exactly what the solar industry is looking for-- lower cost through innovative solutions. We are excited for this new chapter and confident that this collaboration will be beneficial for Ulbrich and Heraeus, but also for the solar industry at large."

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide - the ultimate solution for fast and easy installation of the rail-less RockIt racking system on composition shingle roofs. Smart Slide conforms to UL 441 and TAS 100 (A)-95 for wind and wind-driven rain, providing a super-strong watertight seal that is achieved through compression, in most cases without the need for additional sealant. The waterproofing sealant is embedded deep into the granules of the shingle, thanks to the integrated flexible foam layer that provides cushioning. This ensures a secure fit that conforms to any architectural-style shingle. With UltraGrip Technology™, you can rely on a secure installation, as it absorbs the movement created by thermal expansion and contraction. The pre-installed sealing pads are compatible with all composition shingle roofs, making it the ideal choice, even in ambient temperatures as low as 5 degrees.
