Prysmian Group at Wind Europe Annual Event 2017

The Group is ready to launch a new monitoring and maintenance service for a complete and effective management of subsea cable faults Turn-key cable solutions, project engineering, state-of-the-art cable technologies and asset management services on display

Milan, 27 November 2017 - Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, will exhibit its extended portfolio of products and services at the Wind Europe Annual Event 2017 in Amsterdam from 28th to 30th November (RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre, Booth 1C50).

The range on display will include AC and DC power transmission submarine cable systems, advanced turbine cabling solutions specifically designed to meet highly demanding conditions and with high resistance to abrasion, UV radiations, corrosion, bending and torsion stress for increased efficiency, reliability and safety, cost-effective and high-performance 66 kV cables systems for inter-array networks and asset monitoring services.

The Wind Europe Annual Event 2017 comes at a very important time for the Group as Prysmian is launching a new turn-key solution system to prevent subsea cables damages and minimize downtime and costs in the event of a fault.

The Group has combined monitoring capabilities and maintenance services into an effective and one-of-a-kind solution that provides a comprehensive management of subsea cable faults, from detection to recovery, enabling a remarkable reduction in downtime and costs. Power Link Cable Solutions is the result of the Groups subsea cables know-how, cutting-edge technologies, deep water installations and maintenance capabilities all integrated in a one-stop service provider package.

Power Link Cable Solutions is a service capable of offering a complete set of cloud-based systems (based mainly on PRY-CAM technology), providing a 24/7 wireless monitoring of subsea cables operating conditions, with the support of a dedicated team of technicians specialized in reading and interpreting the collected data.

The Group has set up a marine base fully equipped with tools and facilities required for maintenance interventions, a dedicated fleet with a semi-mobilized DP vessel and shallow water barge as well as spares storage and management with a permanent engineering and offshore installation team ready to take care of most challenging projects. The facilities are located in Middlesbrough, UK.

Over the last years, Prysmian has moved ahead with major investments, introducing new and upgraded assets, with multiple state-of-the-art cable laying vessels and a full range of cable protection equipment and burial tools, broadening the range of offered products and services, providing comprehensive packages to its customers with an EPCI approach.

Prysmian has recently been awarded a major contract with Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE) to develop submarine cable links to connect three planned offshore wind farms to the mainland power grid in France and is currently executing the Horns Rev 3 inter-array cable supply project in Denmark.

In addressing the needs in the sector, Prysmian PowerLink Chief Operating Officer, Raul Gil, will also be speaking at the "Making the wind supply chain more sustainable, efficient and resilient" opening day session.
