Clinches RMB 100 Million Purchase Contract with Mondo Green Energy Ltd for a range of thin film power products

March 11, Beijing - The world's largest thin-film solar power solution company, Hanergy Thin Film Power Group (00566.hk), announced today (March 11) that it has inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Mondo Green Energy Ltd. (Mondo), one of the HK leading building solution companies to assign Mondo with the distribution mandate in Hong Kong of its innovative BIPV product, HanTile.

Under the aegis of the agreement, the duo will join forces to ramp up the sales of Hanergy's top-of-the-line BIPV product, HanTile in Hong Kong market. The company has also signed a purchasing contract of up to RMB 100 million for thin film power products.

The signing ceremony was held at the Hanergy Shenzhen R&D Centre. Ms. Yi Fengqin, Global CEO of Hanergy's HanTile product, Mr. Li Hangzhou, BIPV CEO of Guangdong Hanergy, Mr. Cao Wenhui, Senior Regional Director of Hanergy Hong Kong, Mr. Raymond Ching, General Manager of Mondo, and Mr. Gary Cheng, Director of Technology Engineering of Mondo, attended this ceremony where Mondo was officially announced as the regional distributor for HanTile in Hong Kong market.

Commenting on the collaboration with Mondo, Ms. Yi Fengqin, Global CEO of Hanergy's HanTile product said, "We're confident of scaling new heights with this collaboration which is aimed at strengthening the regional sales of our innovative HanTile product in Hong Kong market. We're proud to have created a mobile energy industry thereby, altering the perception of the photovoltaic industry through the introduction of varied products and applications."

The Hong Kong government has carried out the Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff (FiT) Scheme last year. As per the plan, 2 electricity companies will purchase renewable energy from the private sector for 3 to 5HKD per kilowatt.

The policy has been popular since its launch. As of late February 2019, the Hong Kong government said it had received nearly 1,800 applications.

Hanergy's thin-film solar technology and products are very suitable for Hong Kong, owing to the light weight of the solar thin film which is a lot lighter than crystalline silicon, and has excellent low-light power generation capability. Even in the dim light conditions, it can absorb and generate electricity.

First launched in 2017, HanTile perfectly combines one of the world's most efficient solar chips and the aesthetics, while bringing a greener life to the traditional buildings. In 2018, with the debut of the single glass layer HanTile, Hanergy further lightened the weight and extended the product application scenarios. Further, HanTile has also been a globally certified product, bagging certifications like China's 3C certification and CQC certification, Germany's TÜV Rheinland certification, US and Canada's UL certification and EU's CE certification.

Hanergy's solar cells set the world record for conversion efficiency several times, with the newest one being 29.1%. It launched and upgraded handful of consumer products in 2018, including Humbrella, solar-powered umbrella; SolarTank, solar backpack; HanPower, solar power bank, retaining its leading position in mobile energy sector.
