Race to Renewables at SOLAR 2019

August 5-9, 2019 | Minneapolis, MN | The Crowne Plaza AiRE | #SOLAR2019TwinCities

Today the American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is opening registration to their 48th Annual National Solar Conference, SOLAR 2019. This year's conference is set to the theme of "Race to Renewables," or the race against time to take urgent climate action through the use of renewable energy. SOLAR 2019 promises to cover the most important ways we need to decarbonize our economy by the middle of this century. The IPCC has determined that the earth's temperature cannot increase more than 0.5-degree Celsius in order to avoid the most deleterious effects of climate change in the next five years.

ASES represents the scientists, educators, and activists who can provide renewable energy technologies and solutions for climate action in the United States that will have an impact within the next five years. The ASES SOLAR 2019 conference will focus on those strategies.

SOLAR 2019 will be held August 5-9, 2019 in one of the leading states taking climate action, Minnesota. Minnesota has enacted climate policies that have provided leadership in the growth of wind power, solar power, community solar, variable generation integration technologies, energy efficient buildings and electrifying the transportation sector.

Jonathan Foley, Executive Director of Project Drawdown, will be keynoting the conference, augmented by renewable energy, energy systems and climate experts from across the nation. The conference will focus on immediate climate action by sharing research and information through panels, switch presentations, forums, posters, and more. SOLAR 2019 is the premier educational and solar networking event of the summer.
