Intersolar - Canadian Solar Launches New 1500-Voltage Crystalline Solar Module Portfolio at 2016 Intersolar North America

The conventional 1000V system voltage allows PV system designed only up to 1000V. The new Canadian Solar 1500V module portfolio has proven its performance under both IEC/UL standards for 1500V of system voltage and allows a significantly more efficient system design while reducing the overall BOS and cabling costs.

European offshore wind developers join forces with the Carbon Trust to slash costs of offshore wind

Nine of the largest offshore wind developers in Europe: DONG Energy, EnBW, E.ON, Iberdrola, RWE, SSE, Statkraft, Statoil and Vattenfall have signed up to the programme. Over the next four years the developers will collectively invest at least £6.4 million, boosted by a further £1.5 million from the Scottish Government, to bring new innovations to market that will help to ensure that the typical cost of offshore wind is below £100 per MWh by 2020.

Why Every Rooftop Solar System Needs Energy Storage

John Petersen for Investor Intel:  Rooftop solar is an odd duck. A consumer buys an expensive capital asset with the expectation that he’ll recover his investment through lower electric bills. As a matter of metaphysics, he’s decided to go into the power business with the primary goal of satisfying the most important and discriminating customer on the planet. The value proposition he currently offers his local electric utility is: I’ll buy less electricity from you because of my solar panels, but I need you on standby 24/7 to supply my nighttime needs and fill any weather related power production gaps; Since my solar panels will frequently produce more power than I need, I want you to give me credit for any excess power production, let me draw equivalent power from you when I need it, and structure it all as a tax free swap; You can, of course, bill me for any difference between what I deliver and what I take; I’ll have no duty to buy a fixed amount of power from you or deliver a fixed amount of power to you, but you must supply whatever I need and take whatever I don’t need; and You will be required to pay all of the costs associated with weather related production gaps and pass those costs through to your other customers. Parker KleenVent provides closed-loop solution for wind turbine cooling systems

Parker KleenVent provides closed-loop solution for wind turbine cooling systems

Many 1.5 MW wind turbines use traditional open-loop water/glycol cooling systems. Regular water evaporation in the reservoir elevates the mixture's viscosity, prohibiting cooling of the IGBT and associated critical controls, causing the wind turbine to overheat unless serviced, which in turn means turbine downtime and high maintenance costs. Parker's KleenVent Coolant Evaporation Inhibitor (KV-CEI) is a simple add-on to the legacy cooling system, that eliminates water evaporation in the coolant solution and stops the ingress of airborne contaminants, by enclosing the cooling loop. The KVCEI also removes the need for continuous coolant monitoring during the warm season. Traditional maintenance calls to replenish or rebalance the fluids, take the wind turbine and transformer offline, resulting in significant downtime and revenue loss. Parker's cooling system solution optimizes wind turbine uptime and revenue, reduces maintenance costs and increases overall efficiencies.
