Smart Meters - Improved Battery Life

The battery lifetime calculation made at the beginning of a smart meter's deployment project may be impacted by the software upgrades or the increased frequency of index emissions.

Chasing Efficiency in Solar Energy Sector

In 1977, the cost of solar panels was US$76.67/watt and today, it is just US$0.613/watt

SolarWindow - Transparent Electricity-Generating Coatings

We envision our technology to be part of the next-generation of skyscrapers and commercial buildings, and installed in buildings around the world, providing a source of clean, renewable energy to help meet the world's growing energy demands.

Study - The Future of Renewable Energy Usage

The term Energiewende, literally translated to English as "energy turnaround," is the name given to the combined set of intentions and policy prescriptions that have been developed at the federal level to shift Germany to an energy portfolio dominated by renewable sources, energy efficiency and sustainable development.

Why Wind Power Has Taken China by Storm

The rapid development of the wind power industry has created a new set of challenges for China to address. Despite this, the GWEC still predicts that China will install an additional 100 GW by the end of 2019, exceeding the country's 200 GW target for 2020 a year ahead of time.

What is a Solar Decathlon?

The Solar Decathlon is the ideal venue to utilize R&D advancements with integrated energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies.

This Is Generation Wind

A new generation has arrived for wind energy and that realization is being woven into next year's AWEA WINDPOWER 2016 Conference & Exhibition.

12v Lead Acid Bipolar Battery with ElectriPlast Plates

ElectriPlast is a conductive plastic. By utilizing Long Fiber Technology(LFT) we are able to achieve high levels of electrical conductivity.

Solar for UAV Index

The new metric (PUAV) is a way to compare solar technologies specifically for UAV applications.

Mexico Solar Sector Heating Up: Market Assessment - Q4, 2015

The Mexican renewable energy market is poised to become one of the largest in the Americas in 2016.

CalCharge - New Energy Storage Technologies

Energy storage is essential to reaching our renewable energy goal of 50 percent - and eventually 100 percent.

Research Report - Better Biofuels Ahead - The Road to Low-Carbon Fuels

By Emily Cassidy, Research Analyst for EWG.org:  Biofuels produced from switchgrass and post-harvest corn waste could significantly reduce the emissions that contribute to climate change, according to an analysis by EWG and University of California biofuels experts. EWG’s analysis found that the life cycle carbon intensity of cellulosic ethanol from switchgrass was 47 percent lower than that of gasoline. Ethanol made from corn stover – the leaves and stalks that remain in the field after the grain is harvested – has a life-cycle carbon intensity 96 percent lower than gasoline’s.[1] By contrast, studies have found that the life cycle carbon intensity of corn ethanol is greater than that of gasoline (Mullins et al. 2010, EPA, 2010a). Yet current federal policies strongly favor the production of conventional biofuels such as corn ethanol at the expense of lower-carbon alternatives.    View full article...

Top Tips For Mounting PV On Tile

The 4 most common options for mounting PV modules on tile roofs are tile Hooks, hanger bolt assemblies, standoffs that require drilling or cutting of tile, and flashing systems that replace a complete tile.

IHS Warns of Potential Solar Wafer Supply Shortage in 1H 2016

As a result of strong market demand and insufficient supply, wafer ASPs have slowly started to rise since June. This price increase is significant, considering the declining prices for polysilicon -- and costs of wafer production - this year.

Next Generation Inverters - HD-Wave Technology

With HD-Wave technology, SolarEdge initially creates a much smoother sine wave (a high-definition wave) thus avoiding the heavy and costly magnetic components while gaining efficiency.

LG Solar Unveils NeON R with Enhanced Aesthetics and Energy Savings

LG Solar Unveils NeON R with Enhanced Aesthetics and Energy Savings

The NeON R module features "Back Contact" cell technology delivering an entirely black panel that is aesthetically pleasing and energy efficient. The cell's seamless, surface blends perfectly into nearly all rooftop designs while the module's electrodes are positioned on the rear of the cell. Using LG's N-type cell structure, the panels produce 365W of energy, up to 7.3kWp, compared to 5.8kWp of the p-type cell. The module's new design minimizes LID, thereby delivering a longer lifespan and increased energy output.
