Dow Corning Expert to Highlight How Silicone-based Solutions Are Enabling Next-Generation Batteries at Advanced Automotive Battery Conference 2017

Application engineer Sandrine Teixeira available onsite at Mainz, Germany event to discuss Dow Corning advanced thermal management technology

SENEFFE, BELGIUM - January 26, 2017 - Sandrine Teixeira, application engineer for Transportation Advanced Assembly at Dow Corning, will present a poster at the 2017 Advanced Automotive Battery Conference in Mainz, Germany, highlighting the thermal management benefits that high-performance silicones offer to designers of todays automotive batteries.

Co-authored with Dow Corning experts Darren Hansen, Justin Bult and Pierre Descamps, the poster outlines the broad functional options that silicones provide, including adhesives that reduce the need for mechanical fastening, gap fillers that help relieve mechanical stress and dampen vibration, encapsulants and gels that deliver durable protection of sensitive components and even dispensable thermal pads, which facilitate high throughput production. Importantly, the poster notes, silicones spanning all of these functions can often deliver far better thermal management options for high-power battery components compared to organic solutions.
Titled "Advanced Silicone Materials for Electric Vehicle Electronics and Battery Packs," Dow Cornings poster digs more deeply into the technical considerations that battery designers should know when applying these materials.
Sandrine Teixeira will be available during the Conference to meet with media and answer any questions. To arrange an interview, please see the contacts below.
