CARMEL, Ind., Sept. 9, 2014 -- PowerSys, LLC, a developer of hybrid energy systems has been awarded its fifth patent for associated claims by the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Patent No. 8,829,698 is issued for their innovative use of technology for monitoring, controlling and optimizing power utilization between electrical loads and energy resources such as storage, generation, the grid, renewables and other systems.
The Patent, entitled "Power Generation Systems," issued on September 09, 2014, enables the PowerSys "Utility In A BoxTM" to be used in building energy management applications. The Utility In A BoxTM combines multiple power systems including energy storage, generation, power conversion & conditioning, controls and related electrical connections into a single system. These systems additionally allow for seamless integration of renewables, EV's, the grid and other systems to best manage power utilization while minimizing costs and or peak demand charges. This most recent patent expands the range of PowerSys' groundbreaking hybrid power systems and energy management controls firmly into microgrid markets, including building energy management applications.
