Schneider Electric announces 50 MW contract in eastern US

Schneider Electric™ Solar Business, a global leader in solutions for the solar power conversion chain, has been awarded a 50 MW contract for a solar project in eastern US.

Burnaby, Canada, April 22, 2015 — Schneider Electric™ Solar Business, a global leader in solutions for the solar power conversion chain, has been awarded a 50 MW contract for a solar project in eastern US.

This contract follows Schneider Electric's recent 300 MW project win for the largest PV power plant in Europe to be built in Cestas, France. Schneider Electric was also recently named by IHS as one of the top 3 companies for market share gains in the first three quarters of 2014.

For this project, Schneider Electric's Conext Core XC-NA inverters will be installed.

"The Conext Core XC inverter platform has received very positive feedback from customers and utilities for its capability to meet both current and future grid requirements; from reactive power compensation day and night, to voltage and frequency ride through and regulation - even on less stable island grids, such as Puerto Rico," said Serge Goldenberg, head of the Schneider Electric Solar Business unit.

Schneider Electric has contracted 2.4 GW of this latest generation 1000V inverter platform, Conext Core XC, of which 1.7 GW have been installed.

Schneider Electric can offer assurance that spare parts, services, and technical support will be continually available over the 20+ year life of a solar installation. While some inverter companies faced a difficult end to 2014, Schneider Electric ended the year with record contract wins, proving the company's reputation as a bankable partner within the solar industry.

LG Solar Unveils NeON R with Enhanced Aesthetics and Energy Savings

The NeON R module features "Back Contact" cell technology delivering an entirely black panel that is aesthetically pleasing and energy efficient. The cell's seamless, surface blends perfectly into nearly all rooftop designs while the module's electrodes are positioned on the rear of the cell. Using LG's N-type cell structure, the panels produce 365W of energy, up to 7.3kWp, compared to 5.8kWp of the p-type cell. The module's new design minimizes LID, thereby delivering a longer lifespan and increased energy output.
