His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden Patron of World Bioenergy 2006
His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden has accepted patronage of World Bioenergy 2006. World Bioenergy is an international conference and exhibition on biomass for energy that takes place in Jönköping Sweden 30 May - 1 June 2006.
- We are delighted as His Majesty's keen interest for environmental issues is well known. Now, when Sweden takes the initiative to spread and develop bioenergy as a renewable alternative, His Majesty's support is of tremendous value to us, says Kent Nyström and Hans Standar, managing directors of SVEBIO and Elmia in a joint statement.
World Bioenergy 2006 is composed of several components:
. An international conference with leading expert bioenergy speakers from around the globe.
. A trade fair at the Elmia exhibition complex where leading companies, in this rapidly expanding sector, showcase their know-how and make business contacts.
. A comprehensive fieldtrip programme whereby delegates can see practical and commercial implementation of bioenergy solutions, such as combined heat and power plants, pellet mills, biogas production, ethanol production, terminals, farming energy crops, forest fuels etc.
. The 2nd world conference on pellets and other densified biomass, World Pellets 2006, will be held as part World Bioenergy 2006 as well.
A number of specialist sessions, for instance on biogas and biofuels for the transport sector, will also be held in conjunction with the conferences. Additionally the waste management and recycling trade event, Elmia Waste & Recycling, also takes place at Elmia during the same dates as World Bioenergy 2006 providing opportunities within the waste to energy sector.
Held biennially World Bioenergy is co-organised by the Swedish Bioenergy Association, SVEBIO, and Elmia AB. World Bioenergy 2006 is being held with support from the EU Commission as part of the effort to switch European energy usage to renewable energy sources.
