Power-One's Aurora has the Highest-Efficiency of any CEC Listed Inverter

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has added the Aurora®Series to their list of Eligible Inverters, facilitating rebates of up to $2.50 per watt of solar-system capability. These inverters are the highest efficiency products included on the CEC list of eligible inverters.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) has added the Aurora® PVI-5000 and PVI-6000 Series to their list of Eligible Inverters, facilitating rebates of up to $2.50 per watt of solar-system capability. These inverters are the highest efficiency products included on the CEC list of eligible inverters, 96% and 96.5% for 208VAC and 240/277VAC output configurations, respectively.

Bill Yeates, Power-One's CEO, commented; "The CEC uses inverter efficiency as one of the elements to calculate the power-generating capability, and rebate potential, of residential solar installations. In addition to producing more usable power, the industry-leading efficiencies of these Aurora inverters can provide consumers with larger CEC rebates. This accelerated consumer ROI will contribute to meeting the California Solar Initiative goal of creating 3,000 megawatts of new, solar-produced electricity by 2017."

Mr. Yeates continued, "In addition to meeting the CEC requirements, these inverters are designed to address the needs of solar and wind power consumers worldwide by providing grid-connected operation certified to international standards. Global customers will also be able to increase their usable power through the combination of high conversion efficiencies and two high-speed, independent maximum power point tracking channels that optimize energy harvesting in installations with multiple PV arrays oriented in different directions."

Additional features include: laptop-free configuration via front-panel mounted buttons, true sine-wave outputs with self-selecting voltage capabilities, less than 3.5% total harmonic distortion (typical), anti-islanding protection, and a comprehensive range of communications interface options.

Power-One products power high-availability infrastructure applications such as: alternate energy, routers, data storage and servers, wireless communications, optical networking, medical diagnostics, railway controls, and semiconductor test equipment. Power-One, with headquarters in Camarillo, CA, has global sales offices and manufacturing and R&D operations in China, the Dominican Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Slovakia, Switzerland, and the United States.
