As the next generation in backup power systems, the PowerTower gives renewable energy installers and customers the ability to easily integrate battery backup power into their distributed PV or wind turbine installation.
NEW YORK, June 25, 2008—Gaia Power Technologies, the leading manufacturer of turnkey battery backup power solutions, has announced the release of the all-new PowerTower. As the next generation in backup power systems, the PowerTower gives renewable energy installers and customers the ability to easily integrate battery backup power into their distributed PV or wind turbine installation.
The PowerTower is an advance in battery-based energy storage for renewable energy systems. It offers a ready-to-use system that eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming self-assembly typically required for battery backup systems. The entire turnkey system is safety-certified to UL standards, and every unit undergoes extensive testing to ensure superior performance. In addition, all PowerTowers are protected by a full system warranty.
"Until recently, it was extremely difficult to add battery backup power to a renewable energy installation," says Matt Johnson, director of business development at Gaia. "With this new solution, we've eliminated the hassle of hooking up individual batteries to your inverter/charger. Our turnkey design allows each of our customers to benefit from Gaia's extensive experience in making batteries easier to use in renewable energy installations."
PowerTower backup power solutions offers a single, turnkey inverter/battery package that allow homes and businesses to maximize their investment in renewable energy sources. The PowerTower offers a single hardware interface for all power sources. In a power outage, PowerTower solutions activate instantaneously to provide homes and businesses with continuous power. They are also emissions-free, virtually silent, and can be installed indoors.
The PowerTower scales easily to accommodate the unique needs of each installation. The systems are rated from 4.5kW to 30kW of continuous power output. The systems are configured for 120/240V output and the PowerTower is designed to add battery modules to provide energy for as long as needed.
