New parallel-shaft ac gearmotor

Aichi Tokei Denki Co Ltd, one of Japan's leading manufacturer of measurement devices and sensors focusing on precision processing technologies.

Aichi Tokei Denki Co Ltd, one of Japan's leading manufacturer of measurement devices and sensors focusing on precision processing technologies, has selected Victrex Peek polymer in the design of its innovative VNS series of small electromagnetic flow-sensors capable of accurately measuring the pulse flow of fluids. Aichi Tokei Denki is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, and in 2008 celebrated its 110th, anniversary.

The new VNS flow-sensor measures the amount of fluid inside a tube by determining the amount of electricity produced when the fluid moves through the tube in accordance with Faraday's law. The VNS is superior to mechanical flow-sensors which use movable parts such as a turbine or a float and has excellent measuring capabilities without being affected by elements such as viscosity, density, grime, and impurity which can make fluid extremely difficult to measure.

Furthermore, the molding of Victrex Peek makes a simple hollow design possible alleviating the need for any movable parts or obstacles which block the flow of fluid and can affect the pressure. The sensor is highly durable as well as maintenance-free and is capable of measuring highly corrosive chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite.

By adopting Victrex Peek in the design of the main body of the VNS series and integrally molding the sensor itself Aichi Tokei Denki has achieved significantly lower production costs compared to the company's previous products. The production process has been simplified and miniaturization has been achieved. Aichi Tokei Denki's VNS is a low cost, light weight, compact and highly chemically resistant flow-sensor.

Prior to the development of the VNS series, the main bodies of flow-sensors have traditionally been made from PPS polymers and stainless steel. However, for chemical measuring applications resistance to some chemicals has been a problem for these materials, as has withstanding the pressure build up inside the tubes within the flow-sensor.

Victrex Peek polymers, manufactured by Victrex plc, the leading manufacturer of high performance materials, including APTIV film and Vicote Coatings, have excellent mechanical properties as well as superb chemical resistance which made them an excellent choice for this highly demanding application.

Victrex has Application Technology Centers in Asia and Europe to assist customers with end-use application testing, simulation and analysis. It has Manufacturing Technology Centers dedicated to in-house manufacturing, prototype facilities, and application process expertise. The company's aim is to achieve improvements in product performance, quality, market differentiation, and cost.
