EnerWorks Experiences Record-breaking Quarter

EnerWorks today announced third quarter bookings that more than triple the value of orders for the same period in 2008.

EnerWorks today announced third quarter bookings that more than triple the value of orders for the same period in 2008.

"We're, of course, delighted by the exponential growth in bookings over the past three months," says Dr. Phil Whiting, President and CEO, "and equally as heartened by the diversity of these solar water heating projects. As clear evidence of the value of our efforts to expand our channel partnerships, orders have come in for residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial installations, from new distributors of our products as well as long term partners, and from across North America and the Caribbean."

Among the residential orders are several from the Ontario-based Solar Water Heating Program which EnerWorks is offering together with Enbridge Gas Distribution and Bullfrog Power. In addition, sales of the newly launched one- and two-collector "Focus" Solar Water Heating Appliance in the Caribbean have also contributed to the residential numbers.

Commercial sales have included several large applications with collectors numbering in the hundreds. An exciting example is the installation of 350 Premier Efficiency Collectors which will be taking place this fall at a nursery in Oregon. The largest agricultural application of solar thermal in the state, the system will heat water for the nursery's propagation greenhouses, offsetting the equivalent of 200 homes' consumption of natural gas.

Another 165 Premier Efficiency Collectors have been ordered for a multi-family residential building in Toronto, Ontario while the University of Toronto will have 100 Premier Efficiency Collectors installed to provide domestic hot water at their Warren Stevens Aquatic Centre. The Collectors and accompanying Energy Terminal are also to be installed this fall.

"These results are especially encouraging given that North America is still suffering from the recession," says Tony Ali, VP Sales and Marketing. "The orders we've received in the past three months have far exceeded any quarter's bookings in the company's history and all indications from our pipeline are that this favourable trend should continue."
