Bentek Solar Installers Announce 25 Percent Cost Reduction with Implementation of the MDSS

Wise Power Systems, Inc., based in Wilmington, DE, has reduced its PV disconnect costs by more than 25 percent with the installation of the MDSS.

SAN JOSE, CA ― November 2010 ― Bentek Solar, a leader in the design and manufacturing of optimized Configure-To-Order solar combiners, re-combiners and solar safety systems, announces that several installers and integrators have selected the Bentek Solar leading-edge Multiple Disconnect Safety System (MDSS). Wise Power Systems, Inc., based in Wilmington, DE, already has reduced its PV disconnect costs by more than 25 percent with the installation of the MDSS.

Wise Power Systems, Inc. is a full service supplier of consumer and commercial-sized wind, solar, micro hydro power installations and solar hot water. "The MDSS provides significant benefits in labor, materials, time and economy of space, resulting in a 25 percent savings in total costs," said William C Rawheiser, President of Wise Power Systems.

MDSS product features include:
From three to eight integrated disconnects per MDSS
Multiple 100, 200 and 400A disconnects into one MDSS
600 or 1000VDC disconnects
Enclosure is NEMA-3R + dust tight, with removable bottom panels for wiring
Handles mounted internally or externally

"We are pleased to announce that first orders have been taken for the new MDSS and we are very excited about the future of this leading-edge safety system," said John H. Buckley, leading the sales and marketing for Bentek Solar.

Kipp & Zonen - DustIQ the novel soiling monitoring solution for solar panels

Soiling of the panel glass is one of the major problems in the rapidly expanding solar energy market, with the attendant loss of efficiency and reduction in performance ratios. Now, there's a new, simple and very cost-effective alternative. Based on Kipp & Zonen's unique Optical Soiling Measurement (OSM) technology, DustIQ can be easily added to new or existing solar arrays and integrated into plant management systems. The unit is mounted to the frame of a PV panel and does not need sunlight to operate. It continuously measures the transmission loss through glass caused by soiling, so that the reduction in light reaching the solar cells can be calculated.
