Corvus Energy Increases its Battery Capacity from 6.2kWh to 6.5kWh

Advances in cell technology usher in higher lithium-ion battery capacity

Corvus Energy Ltd., manufacturer of the world's most powerful lithium batteries, announced today that it is increasing the posted capacity of its battery modules from 6.2kWh to 6.5kWh due to advances in cell technology.

"The increase in energy density will provide our customers with additional capacity to operate longer at a higher power output, significantly increasing their usable power as well as drastically reducing their fuel consumption and emissions," said Brent Perry, CEO of Corvus Energy. "Increased fuel efficiency is critical in today's environment of rising fuel prices because it offers a quicker return on investment."

Since 2009, Corvus Energy has rapidly become one of Canada's most watched technology companies due to its extensive developments of hybrid and full-electric propulsion systems for a variety of heavy machinery, from ocean submersibles to lunar rovers, and advanced storage and distribution solutions for the renewable energy industry.

Corvus Energy provides unparalleled energy solutions for the marine, transportation, off grid, commercial grid and military sectors. Its G1 series lithium-ion battery modules can last 10 times as long and have four to 10 times the power and energy storage of lead-acid batteries in one quarter of the weight and volume. They are an ideal energy storage solution that can act as a standby source of electricity or support fuel-driven engines to reduce fuel consumption by up to 80 percent in large-scale industrial applications.

Each module delivers at least 22 percent more power and energy density than the most powerful lithium-ion phosphate batteries used in electric vehicles and consumer products. The result equals cost savings in the form of reduced battery replacement and maintenance, increased usable battery power, a smaller environmental footprint and less weight.
