Inspirational Speakers to Keynote at Solar Power International 2011

Basketball legend Magic Johnson and motivational speaker Marcus Buckingham to address attendees at opening and closing sessions

DALLAS, TEXAS - June 7, 2011 - Solar Energy Trade Shows today announced that Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Marcus Buckingham will be keynote speakers at Solar Power International (SPI) 2011, October 17-20 in Dallas, TX. This year's inspirational themed general sessions will provide an energetic and moving experience for executives, business owners, and other management professionals in the solar industry.

Basketball legend and business leader, Magic Johnson, welcomes SPI 2011 attendees at the show's opening general session on Monday, October 17th at 5:00 p.m. with an interview conducted by former basketball player turned NBA analyst, Steve Kerr. Johnson's motto is "It's not whether you can become successful...it's how many people can you help become successful." He founded Magic Johnson Enterprises in 1987 to provide high quality products and services for ethnically diverse and underserved urban communities through strategic alliances, investments, consulting and endorsements. Johnson also serves as Chairman and Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation, where he is committed to transforming Urban America through HIV/AIDS Awareness & Prevention Programs and Community Empowerment Centers.

The closing general session on Thursday, October 20th at 8:30 a.m. will feature Marcus Buckingham, a New York Times bestselling author and motivational speaker. Buckingham's discussion will highlight how individuals can become more productive by focusing on their strengths rather than concentrating on weaknesses. Buckingham will also offer self-motivating suggestions that are supported by data, personal anecdotes, and observations from interviews he's conducted with high achieving workplace performers.

"We are pleased to have these two inspiring individuals speak at SPI 2011," said Rhone Resch, president and CEO of Solar Energy Industries Association. "Magic and Marcus will undoubtedly provide key takeaways for show attendees on how to capitalize on their human potential and how to ensure their long-term success."

"SPI is dedicated to providing exhibitors and attendees alike with the guidance and resources to continue our industry's growth.
