PV Operations & Maintenance Guide unveiled by PV Insider

Researchers at PV Insider have completed work on the PV Operations and Maintenance Guide 2012, an online resource providing exclusive insight on how to optimize the operations and maintenance of utility scale PV plants.

Hours of research has resulted in the general release of this online resource (produced for the 3rd Utility Scale PV Plant Optimization Summit USA), which provides rare insight into the challenges and opportunities in PV O&M from experts working in this field. The guide includes presentations given by SunPower, EPRI and True South Renewables, plus an exclusive Q&A with experts at Sandia National Laboratories, Cupertino Electric, Solar Power Technologies and Draker.

Jack Ahearne at PV Insider said that the "Operations and Maintenance Guide 2012 will shed light on the methods currently used to optimize the economic performance of utility scale plants, as well as the key lessons that experts in the industry have learnt in both preventative and reactive O&M".

The guide is free to download, and can be found here:

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide

Introducing RockIt Smart Slide - the ultimate solution for fast and easy installation of the rail-less RockIt racking system on composition shingle roofs. Smart Slide conforms to UL 441 and TAS 100 (A)-95 for wind and wind-driven rain, providing a super-strong watertight seal that is achieved through compression, in most cases without the need for additional sealant. The waterproofing sealant is embedded deep into the granules of the shingle, thanks to the integrated flexible foam layer that provides cushioning. This ensures a secure fit that conforms to any architectural-style shingle. With UltraGrip Technology™, you can rely on a secure installation, as it absorbs the movement created by thermal expansion and contraction. The pre-installed sealing pads are compatible with all composition shingle roofs, making it the ideal choice, even in ambient temperatures as low as 5 degrees.
