The George W. Bush Presidential Library incorporates a Kingspan Solar hot water system, comprising 48 Heat Pipe evacuated tubes which will pre-heat water feeding into the gas boiler system, helping to provide around 75 per cent of the building's hot water.

The newly built, highly prestigious George W. Bush Presidential Center, set within the Southern Methodist University campus, Texas is designed to be both beautiful and low-maintenance.Built in brick and limestone, the magnificent light-filled Center is a modern expression of the University's heritage, cleverly reflecting key components of the SMU's Collegiate Georgian architecture. It houses an archive, a museum – including a replica of the Oval Office - and a policy institute, and sits within landscaped grounds that will also function as an urban park, incorporating a library and spaces for gatherings and events.

Both the building and its setting were conceived to achieve LEED platinum certification.

The library within the park incorporates a Kingspan Solar hot water system, comprising 48 Heat Pipe evacuated tube collectors which will pre-heat water feeding into the PVI gas boiler system, helping to provide around 75 per cent of the building's hot water.

Kingspan Solar tube collectors deliver an unrivaled transfer of solar energy into heat. The vacuum inside each tube insulates the system from outside influences – such as windy, wet or cold weather. This means the system delivers a quality performance all year round, with the vacuum tubes collecting the sun's energy quickly and efficiently, ensuring solar-heated water is always readily available.

The 48 Kingspan Solar collectors are expected to produce around 575,000,000 BTU of solar energy annually, lowering the building's carbon emissions by 130,000lbs.
