ClimateMaster Provides AIA-Certified Courses on Geothermal and Hybrid Geothermal HVAC System Design

ClimateMaster offers a new set of AIA-certified educational courses on the fundamentals of geothermal heating and cooling systems, and on hybrid geothermal system design.

ClimateMaster announces the availability of a new set of educational courses developed in conjunction with the American Institute of Architects (AIA). The courses, offered as lunch-and-learn sessions that are eligible for AIA continuing education credits, are focused on the fundamentals of geothermal heating and cooling systems, and on hybrid geothermal system design.

Providing participants with an introduction to geothermal comfort systems, ClimateMaster's "Geothermal Heating and Cooling" Course (No. AIAGEOTHERMAL) includes an in-depth explanation of the geothermal heat pump concept, as well as the different types of loop field installations. In addition, the course outlines the advantages of heating and cooling with water-source heat pumps, including the specific financial advantages of using geothermal heat pump systems. It also highlights the advantages of hybrid geothermal system designs.

ClimateMaster's "Hybrid Geothermal Systems" Course (No. HybridGeo2013) explores the advantages of hybrid geothermal systems in reducing upfront costs while maintaining the energy efficiency and cost saving benefits of a renewable energy system. The course specifically examines the principles of a water-source heat pump system, and compares the features of a conventional water-source heat pump system with a geothermal heat pump system. It also illustrates how to reduce the size of a geothermal loop field while maintaining the capacity required by a system's heating and cooling needs. Additionally, the course provides real-world examples of hybrid geothermal systems to emphasize the potential cost savings that can be achieved.
